Privacy, accessibility, and how this site works.

Privacy

What we collect. Only what you choose to give us. If you fill in a form on this site, we receive your name, email address, and whatever else you enter — a phone number, a ZIP code, a neighborhood, a message. We do not collect anything else about you, and we do not buy information about you from anyone.

What we do with it. We use it to reply to you and to organize campaign activity. That is all. We do not sell your information, and we do not rent, trade, or share it with other campaigns or organizations. The only exceptions are where the law requires disclosure, or where Virginia campaign-finance reporting requires that contributor information be reported.

Text messages. If you give a mobile number, you may receive periodic text messages from the committee, which may include requests for contributions. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to stop at any time.

Cookies and tracking. This site does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. We do not run advertising pixels from social media platforms. We do count visits — which pages are viewed, and roughly where in the country visitors come from — using a privacy-preserving analytics tool that sets no cookies and does not identify you or follow you to other sites.

Services we rely on. The site is hosted by Vercel. Form submissions are stored in a Supabase database. Contributions are processed by ActBlue, which has its own privacy policy and handles all payment information — the campaign never sees your card details. Each of these providers processes data on the campaign’s behalf under its own terms.

How long we keep it. Contact and volunteer information is kept for the duration of the campaign. Contribution records are kept as long as Virginia campaign-finance law requires.

Children. This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted information, write to us and we will delete it.

Your choices. To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email info@kimforpwc.com or write to the committee at the address in the footer. We will act on it.

Accessibility

Our commitment. Roughly one in four adults lives with a disability. A campaign built on the idea that every resident deserves to be heard cannot have a website that shuts people out. We take that seriously.

The standard we build to. This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. In practice that means text meets contrast requirements, every page works with a keyboard alone, images carry alternative text, headings are structured so screen readers can navigate them, form fields are properly labelled, and the site respects your device’s reduced-motion setting.

Where we know we fall short. The Potomac District map is a county-produced image. We describe it in text and link to the full-size version, but the map itself cannot be read by a screen reader. If you need the information it contains, contact us and we will provide it another way.

Tell us if something doesn’t work. This is the important part. If any page, form, or document on this site is difficult for you to use, email info@kimforpwc.com with the page address and what went wrong. We will respond within three business days and fix what we can. If you need information from this site in another format — large print, plain text, or read aloud over the phone — ask, and we will provide it.

Campaign events. Accessibility is not only a website matter. If you need an accommodation to attend a campaign event — a sign language interpreter, an accessible entrance, seating, or materials in another format — contact us in advance and we will arrange it.

The chat assistant

If this site offers an automated assistant, it answers questions using the campaign’s published material. It is a computer program, not Kim and not a member of her staff.

The assistant does not give legal, financial, or voting-eligibility advice, and it does not accept contributions. For anything about registering to vote, polling places, or deadlines, it will point you to the Prince William County Office of Elections and the Virginia Department of Elections, which are the only official sources.

Conversations may be stored so the campaign can see what residents are asking and improve the answers. Do not enter Social Security numbers, financial details, or other sensitive information. If a question needs a human, the assistant will hand you to the contact form.

Comment policy

Concerns submitted to the District Desk may be published so neighbors can see what is being raised. Your name is not published unless you give separate permission. The campaign removes content that identifies private individuals, contains threats, or is unrelated to the district.

About the District Desk

Desk entries summarize items from the published agendas and minutes of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. Summaries are written in plain language by the campaign and are not official county records. Every entry links to the county’s own document. Where a summary and the county record disagree, the county record governs.

The Desk is updated following each Board action. It publishes items whether or not they are favorable to the campaign.

Contributions

Contributions are not tax deductible. They are political contributions, not charitable donations.

Contributions are public. Virginia requires committees to report contributions to the Department of Elections. Once a contributor gives more than $100 in aggregate during a reporting period, that contributor is itemized by name and address in a public filing. Those filings are published online and can be searched by anyone. If you would prefer not to appear in a public record, that is worth knowing before you give.

Who may contribute. Virginia does not cap contributions to candidates for state or local office, and permits contributions from individuals, corporations, unions, associations, and partnerships. This campaign accepts contributions within those rules.

Who may not. Federal law prohibits contributions from foreign nationals, including foreign corporations. Lawful permanent residents holding a valid green card are not foreign nationals for this purpose and may contribute. It is also unlawful to make a contribution in another person’s name, or to be reimbursed by someone else for a contribution you make.

How contributions are processed. Online contributions are handled by ActBlue, which collects the information Virginia requires and processes all payment details. The campaign never receives or stores your card information. ActBlue’s own terms and privacy policy apply to that transaction.

Refunds and questions. If a contribution was made in error, or you have a question about a contribution or how it was reported, contact the committee treasurer through the campaign and it will be addressed.
