What Kim Will Fight For

Public Safety

Every family deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood. Kim will work to fully fund our first responders, improve emergency response times, and build stronger community-police partnerships across the Potomac District.

Our Schools

Quality education is the foundation of a thriving community. Kim will advocate for adequate school funding, reduced overcrowding, and resources that give every child the opportunity to succeed.

Smart Growth

Development should serve residents, not overwhelm them. Kim will ensure new growth preserves our green spaces, respects existing neighborhoods, and is matched by the infrastructure our community needs.

Roads & Infrastructure

Congestion and crumbling roads cost our families time and money every day. Kim will push for targeted infrastructure investments, improved transit options, and long-term planning that keeps pace with our growing district.

About Kim

A Neighbor Who Knows Our Community

Kim Short has called the Potomac District home for over two decades. As a parent, community volunteer, and local business owner, she has seen firsthand the challenges our families face — and she has spent years working to address them.

Kim brings a practical, people-first approach to local government. She believes that good leadership means listening before acting, building consensus, and always keeping the needs of Potomac District families at the center of every decision.

"I'm not running to be a politician. I'm running to be a neighbor who shows up, listens, and gets things done for our community."
